Chrome extension
Copy the Link Text, Not the URL
Effective date: August 22, 2026
Copy the Link Text, Not the URL operates locally in the browser and does not send data to any external server.
When you explicitly right-click a link, the extension temporarily processes that link's visible text so it can place the text on your clipboard. Depending on the link, the text may come from its visible text, aria-label, title, or image alt text.
This processing occurs entirely on your device. The extension does not transmit the link text, retain it in persistent storage, or make it available to the developer or any third party. It does not read the existing contents of your clipboard.
The extension does not:
The extension does not maintain persistent user data, create a user profile, or sync data to a remote backend. It does not share data with third parties.
The extension's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide the extension's single user-facing purpose: copying the visible text of a link at the user's request.
If the extension's behavior changes in a way that affects privacy, this policy will be updated before release.
